Of many things that have happened in the past 12 months, 2012 fashion trends made a bold statement: oversized sweaters, bedazzled collars, studded heels, colored jeans, bubble necklaces and patterned everything. As an addendum to Geometry Class, let’s review three of the most popular patterns of 2012.

Check out how chevron, Ikat and chain link patterns found their way to the walls of these homes.

CHEVRON

A classic chevron pattern works well in this bedroom. Although you could take this patter to the walls and not just as an accent.

Chevron patterns are especially popular in children’s rooms and nurseries. A fun yellow and blue chevron pattern make for a nice color palette.

IKAT

Ikat was extremely popular in clothing this past year, but take a look at how the pattern can add flavor to your home.

Some Ikat pattern look great with the rustic picture frame and wicker furniture.
