Rachael Ray Show: Disaster Room Makeover

When you want to use the best painting company in the business, you look to Five Star Painting® - and that’s exactly what the Rachael Ray ShowLink opens in a new tab did. The task given was to flip a child’s bedroom into an updated room fit for an adult. This meant removing teddy bear wallpaper that had been on the walls over 20 years, repairing and spackling several sections of the wall, then painting the entire room. Did we mention we had a three-hour timeframe?

Never afraid to take on a challenge, Five Star Painting of Staten Island owner, Ghali Asad, and his crew arrived at the house ready to go. Within the tight space, the crew got to work. One painter focused on removing the wallpaper border, while the other painter focused on repairing the walls. After the repairs were completed, the painter used a heat gun to expedite the drying of the compound on the repaired areas.

Once the entire surface was completely dry, one painter began to cut the lines along the walls against the ceiling and floors. This includes using a precise brush and steady hand to ensure a straight paint line. The crew then used a paint roller to cover the remainder of the walls using Sherwin Williams SuperPaint.

The entire process took 2 hours and 45 minutes, and the final results are fabulous. Check out this video to see for yourself!
