How does the color consulting process work?
Typically, the process starts with interviewing you on what your vision is for the project and the general colors you are considering. Our color consultant will then examine your home via pictures or in person and narrow down some color options for you to review. Our consultant will then review those options with you on site at your home or business. At that time, you may make your final decision or take some more time to think about it.
How long does the color consultation visit last?
In most cases, it is just one on-site visit that lasts about 30-60 minutes. However, depending on the scope of the project, multiple visits and more hours can be spent.
Is there a charge for color consultation?
If you select Five Star Painting of Temple to perform your painting project, the color consultation is often free of charge. If you desire color consultation services only, there is a charge and we will provide you with a quote for the price.
What if I just pick my color using an app?
Color apps and digital color palettes are very helpful in finding a paint color. However, we advise against making a FINAL color selection based on a digital color palette alone. Just as a printed photo looks different than that same photo online, you will find the same thing occurs with color palettes. We advise referencing color cards before making your final paint color decision.
Should I just brush some paint color samples on my wall?
You can, but we advise testing the samples in an inconspicuous place. Also, do not put the paint on too heavy. Depending on the type of paint you use there can be occasional trouble with those paint samples flashing through no matter how heavy you put the final paint coat on. We recommend painting the sample onto a large poster board or paper and attach that to the wall instead, this will save you from the flashing problem and allows you to move the sample to test out various locations in the space.
