Meet Our Team in Wilmington, DE

Kathy and Dave are the of Five Star Painting since 2015. Married for more than 20 years, they reside in Newark, where they raised their 5 children. Dave has been a successful business owner for more than 25 years, and Kathy is an artist with a background in graphic design and color theory. Together, they run Five Star with the goal of providing exceptional customer service to every painting client. By creating a team of friendly and knowledgeable estimators, project managers and skilled painters, their goal is to create a better than expected painting experience for every one of their clients. They love working and serving in the community in which they live and love helping businesses and homeowners transform their spaces with color.

Karen Ehemann joined the team in 2021, and has been instrumental in keeping the entire operation on schedule, week in and week out. Her strong organizational skills and ability to problem-solve make her a valued member of the team, as does her sunny disposition and sense of humor. Karen is happily married and the mother of two teenagers, which explains her ability to multi-task like a beast!

Eylin joined the team in 2025 as an administrative specialist experienced in remote support, communication management, and task coordination. As a busy mom of two girls, just two years apart, she has developed strong multitasking and organizational skills that carry over to her worklife. Eylin is top-notch at keeping communication and internal processes well structured to ensure every painting project runs smoothly.

Megan joined the Five Star team in 2023. She is a problem-solver, has a great eye for detail and her many years of previous managerial experience makes her the perfect liaison between painters and clients. Megan lives in Bear with her children and partner, and is a non-apologetic Dallas Cowboys fan!

Susie Moak, Estimator, has been with Five Star Painting since May 2018. With her professional background in the real estate industry, she brings a wealth of knowledge about property enhancements, trends and styles. Susie has a dynamic personality that allows her to connect authentically with clients. She is a proud veteran of the U.S. Army.

Keith Roman has been in the painting industry over a decade & grew up in the construction field. He uses that extensive knowledge to provide solutions to clients for their painting projects. Happily married to his wife for 20 years they have a 13 year old daughter who is a champion gymnast. Keith collects guitars and serves as an assistant youth worship pastor at his church. Keith is also a University of Michigan Wolverine and supports them every chance he gets.

With a background in both construction management and interior design, Sarah joined our team in 2025 as a color consultant to assist clients with selecting paint colors and helping them to envision the space of their dreams. She also has extensive experience with designing commercial spaces. When she's not busy DIYing or renovating an old home, Sarah loves to spend time with family and friends.
